Q: Do I need eclipse glasses?

A: Eclipse glasses are essential for safely viewing the sun during the event. There will be some available for purchase at Totality while supplies last. We encourage you to share your glasses with your neighbor and to bring your own. Additionally, we will offer an alternative method for observing the eclipse, allowing for a detailed and enhanced viewing experience beyond direct sun observation.

A: Parking will be scarce throughout the city of Burlington for the entire weekend. You can learn more about parking options through the Burlington City Arts website.

Q: Can I bring food and drinks?

A: Please leave food & drinks at home. We will have plenty of local vendors providing food and beverages on campus. However, we encourage you to bring water. We ask that you dispose of any waste you create in the correct receptacles.

Q: What else can I bring?

A: We encourage you to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Please also plan accordingly to be outside: dress in layers, bring sunscreen if applicable, etc.

Q: Is traffic going to be a nightmare?

A: Burlington city officials have made concerted efforts to manage traffic flow and minimize gridlock during this event. While we cannot guarantee traffic conditions due to uncertainties regarding attendance, rest assured that city planners are working diligently to prioritize safety and efficient travel. Please consider potential traffic delays when planning your journey to ensure a smooth and safe experience.

Q: I don’t want to get stuck in gridlock… What else can I do?

A: Hula is located in the heart of the South End, and we have some fantastic neighbors. Click here for local businesses near us. We encourage you to use alternate modes of transportation to explore the south end. There will be plenty of places to park your bike!

Q: What do I do with my glasses after the event?

A: Hula is collaborating with Astronomers without Borders (AWB) to become an official drop-off location for used eclipse glasses. AWB, an organization dedicated to ensuring safe eclipse viewing for all, assists in distributing glasses to individuals who may not have access to them otherwise. By bringing your used eclipse glasses to Hula, you can contribute to their recycling efforts and help minimize waste associated with these events.
