PRESENTS:
Explore the fundamental building blocks of dramatic action and theater through the Lecoq technique, we will work on rhythm and space two fundamental aspects of the journey. We will find the physical "jeu!" (play) in all aspects of what we create on page or stage. This work trains students to develop a heightened presence, a deep awareness of the demands of performance, and an ability to create new worlds by connecting the body, breath, and gaze.
We will play with text and physicality and come up with one (or two!) original characters that you create through movement and imagination. We will work in solos, duos, and small groups to collaboratively create dynamic and fun material. Bring a notebook to write down your ideas and discoveries!
Please come prepared to move in comfortable clothing. For better concentration and focus on the work, neutrally based color clothing is preferred (black, but grey and or blue is also acceptable). No logos or other colors please.
