Across Roads Center for the Arts is celebrating Fall with workshops designed to appreciate the outdoors with a bookbinding class to make a journal to record your observations, drawings, and writing on your next outdoor excursion, and guided Nature Journaling adventures.

Elissa Campbell of Blue Roof Designs will teach how to make a Long-Stitch Journal that is a perfect companion for exploring outside. Saturday, September 21, from 10am-1pm.

Participants will learn basic bookbinding technique, receive a detailed handout and resource list, and leave with a completed journal with a cover of durable waterproof canvas and a lay-flat binding for easy writing and drawing. No previous experience is required and all materials and use of tools are included in the fee.

$65 online here (or $70 day-of)

Pair this workshop with Rachel Sargent Mirus' Nature Journaling on Saturdays, Sept 21 and Oct 5, 2pm-4pm for a 10% package discount.

Keeping a nature journal or field notebook is a fun way to learn about the natural world through drawing and nature writing. This workshop will focus on changes in fall foliage to introduce participants of all ages and experiences to a foundational nature journaling framework that can be tailored to any outdoor interests. Please bring your favorite notebook and writing/drawing and meet at the Grange Hall Cultural Center to sign in before moving to the site.
