Located in the heart of Misawa, Japan, a small cafe named Cafe Live Forever was the place to meet for tea and scones. The scones were tall, round delicacies served on a tray with clotted cream, jam, and of course, a pot of tea. In Japan, visual presentation is as much a part of the dining experience as the taste itself, which is why an afternoon stop at Cafe Life Forever was not just a treat but also an experience.
After moving back to the States from Japan, Liz was determined to recreate the recipe, which took many trials and errors, and many requests from her husband to "please take a break from making scones". Come learn the recipe and art of a Japanese scone, as well as an intriguing array of flavors to mix in to create your own trio of scones. At the end of class, we will enjoy some of our freshly made scones with homemade clotted cream, jam, and tea!
