In its 27th year, the Vermont International Festival will be held Friday, December 6 through Sunday December 8, at the Champlain Valley Exposition, Route 15/Pearl Street in Essex Junction. There is unlimited, free parking and it is handicapped-accessible. CCTA provides public bus service to the Champlain Valley Exposition grounds.
Over sixty vendors, including new Vermonters as well as artisans coming from all parts of the globe, will sell reasonably-priced, unique, imported handcrafts including clothing, pottery, home décor, holiday decorations, instruments, carvings and jewelry. We are welcoming some NEW craft vendors representing South Africa, Laos, Vietnam and India, and more are signing up every week.
Another festival highlight is the delicious and affordable ethnic food available in the Food Court, including Congolese, Nepali, Italian, Chinese, Filipino, Argentinian, Austrian, Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Indian. Community organizations will provide information about international exchange and resettlement programs. New Americans, as well as long-time Vermonters, will share traditions, celebrations, games and art that reflect their heritage. *And as you shop, eat or learn there will be non-stop multi-cultural music and dance on two stages.
The Vermont Performing Arts League, presenter of the International Festival, is funded in part by the Vermont Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Physician’s Computer Company of Winooski. The festival’s media sponsors are Seven Days and WCAX-TV.
The Vermont International Festival was named one of the Top Ten Winter Events in Vermont for 2019-2020 by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce. For more information, go to www.vermontinternationalfestival.com.
