ART AND THE BRAIN:
An art making experience that shows how perception determines
the way we make and appreciate art.

Rachel Sargent Mirus, Duxbury artist and biologist, instructs a series of fun and creative science-based art explorations created for all levels of self-directed art! Expect a mix of art-making and art discussion that is scaled to engage both the practicing and aspiring artist.
Saturdays in January 9, 16. 23, & 30 @ 10-11am
Sessions can be attended separately or as a series.
$15 per class or $50 for each monthly series
Minimum age: 14 yo

Session 1: January 9-- Color. We will look at how we perceive color though color-focused art projects.
Session 2: January 16-- What vs where. We will play with equiluminant colors while looking at how the brain processes visual information.
Session 3: January 23-- Focus and detail. We will look at and practice ways to use different levels of detail in the visual field to guide viewer attention.
Session 4: January 30-- Creativity. We will look at inspiration and practice mindfulness for getting in touch with our creative subconscious.
