Hydro 101 is the newest class in our 2020 roster and will cover the basics of growing hydroponically. In this class we’ll talk about the theory behind hydroponics, the various types of system and essential components—which methods work well for cannabis, which one is right for you—fertilizer & amendment options, and important precautions to avoid catastrophe.

Hydro setups offer growers an alternative to soil-based gardens. The primary advantage is the potential for bigger yields and higher potency (with reduced habitat for pests), the tradeoff is a more complicated process with little room for error, requiring greater attention to detail and a meticulous approach.

Using water or an inert soilless substrate, hydroponic gardening relies entirely on the gardener to provide all of the inputs and the ideal environment for the plant to thrive—a fun and challenging project. Learn along with our in-store hydro expert and leave with the confidence to start your own!
