Celebrating amazing artists from Vermont and New England. Community Concerts at First is an opportunity for the Essex community to gather and enjoy great music together.


Tickets are by donation. A portion of the proceeds from each concert is donated to a local service organization! So far, the proceeds have benefitted Spectrum Youth Services, Dismas of Chittenden County and Ukraine Charities.


We encourage you to purchase a ticket in advance. If that's not possible, tickets will be available for purchase at the door by cash, check or credit card. Attendees under age 18 are free.


About Cricket Blue: Indie folk from master story-tellers and musicians Laura Heaberlin and Taylor Smith. NPR Music calls Cricket Blue “master storytellers” and the All Scene Eye says Cricket Blue “sets a new standard for fiction-folk.” They were voted “Best Folk Group” in Vermont’s Seven Daysie Awards and they've played stages and folk festivals around the United States and Canada. 


Cricket Blue is Laura Heaberlin and Taylor Smith. Cricket Blue plays with string trio: John Dunlop, Laura Markowitz, and Sofia Hirsch (Vermont Symphony Orchestra and Eclectica String Quartet).
