This is a free, monthly space to gather with others who are interested in exploring ecological questions, emotional elements of climate change, ideas of change, building community, and creating a thriving world.
Each month we explore a different theme. The host, Ariel, will provide a little structure, but it will be a fairly open format and leave plenty of opportunity to discuss, share, and explore.
September's topic: abundant joy, abundant pleasure
When you think climate change, do you think “joy”? When I say climate action, do you say “pleasure”?
I don’t think anyone would be surprised if you responded, “no, not really” to both of those questions.
Is there a role for joy and pleasure in climate and ecojustice work? If there is, what is it? And, on top of that, can it be abundant? Not only popping up every third Tuesday in March of a leap year…but found and created every day? What is the difference between joy and pleasure? What does abundant joy and pleasure have to offer the climate and ecojustice movements that are so often, and understandably so, framed by struggle, injustice, pain, grief, and anxiety?
Sessions are held online.
