A global pandemic can't stop us. Female Founders Season 5 is here!
...and we need it more than ever! We kickoff the series with "PIVOT!" featuring Wangene Hall, Marina McCoy, and Jean Hamilton. Three entrepreneurs who have persevered...yes, even in 2020.
Meet the speakers:
Wangene Hall is the Head of Marketing at Global Village Cuisine. Her mission is sharing the story of African food for everyone. As a creative, marketer, and strategist, she’s spent nearly a decade helping companies transform into obsession-worthy brands. In her previous roles, she led marketing at South by Southwest and Beats by Dre. She’s a proud alumna of Amherst College and the Tuck School of Business. She lives in Quechee, Vermont with her noisy, loving family and her puppy.
Marina McCoy is a Zero Waste & Recycling Expert and Founder/CEO of Waste Free Earth. Her company is reinventing how businesses produce and consume waste through zero waste operations. By working in the sustainability field for almost a decade, she has developed proven strategies that lower the environmental impact and reduces overall waste consumption with each client she works with. Marina has been living zero waste for the past six years. In her free time, you can find her in the mountains, volunteering, or making waste free dinners with friends.
Jean Hamilton is the Director of ShiftMeals. She also founded Jean Hamilton Consulting where she works primarily with food and farming businesses. Since moving to Vermont to attend Middlebury College, Jean has been involved in strengthening Vermont’s agricultural economy and culture as an advocate, educator, community developer, farmer, and chef. Jean delights in Vermont’s open spaces, fresh water, and community traditions.

Where it all started:
VCET and Hotel Vermont co-founded the Female Founders Speaker Series in 2016. Celebrating female entrepreneurs from around the state, the series aims to share what it takes to start a company from the ground up. Each speaker shares the story of their business, including what it took to get started, lessons they’ve learned, and where they hope to go in the future.
