Parent and child (age 9+) class

Richmond Community Kitchen is offering different cooking classes almost every week. From the basics to the exotics, join our esteemed chef instructors for some hands-on time in the kitchen. Classes are limited to 12 so you will have your own cooking station and hands-on support to learn something creative and delicious!

Your kids (and you!) love granola bars, crackers and dried fruit snacks – you don’t love the packaging, the processing and the added ingredients. Learn how to make easy pantry and refrigerator staples from scratch to store in the cupboard, fridge and freezer. Ideas for granola, applesauce, toaster pastries (think pop-tarts from fresh fruit without the preservatives!), spice blends, nut butters, quick pickles and jams and more. This class is for a caregiver/child combo - bring your child along and get yourselves ready for the new school year!

About the instructor:

Holly Pierce's passion is turning people on to the righteous gospel of food love. As a chef and educator, she loves inspiring people to explore what it means for them to live healthy and delicious lives. An avid curiosity about people and the world has resulted in a life-long journey of learning for her. Beginning with a focus on food and technique, she continued her studies in nutrition and holistic wellness, rounding them out with forays into human behavior and lifestyles, spirituality, and mind-body practices. She is an ardent advocate for local food, farms and agriculture and connecting with people and creating community is her greatest joy.

Class is $60 for a parent/caregiver and child (age 9+). You may choose to pay online with a credit card or sign up at the retail store to pay with cash or check.
