Second Annual Crossroads Music Jamboree expanded to four days for all ages

Crossroads Music Jamboree 2022 will celebrate its second summer season in Waterbury, Vermont at three locations from Thursday through Sunday, August 4-7, 2022. This year the CMJ will collaborate with Bridgeside Books, the Waterbury Public Library, and the American Legion Post 59.

There will be a total of four events. The first two free events are open to the public and will take place at the Waterbury Library with a “Lunch and Learn” one hour lecture on Blues and Jews: The Secret Musical Relationship Between Black and Jewish Musicians on Thursday, August 4th at 12 PM in the Community SAL Room and a Community Jam and Sing-Along on Friday, August 5th from 6:30-7:30 PM in the Library’s garden. In case of rain, we will meet in the SAL Room of the library. The second event is open to anyone who plays an instrument and would like to play along or sing with the sheet music or by ear. The third event is the main event of the jamboree: Klezmer & Jazz Mashup Concert on Saturday, August 6th at 8:00 PM featuring artistic director Aaron Kula and an ensemble of local professional musicians performing a mash up of Eastern European Klezmer and American Jazz songs at the American Legion Post 59. The final event will be a kiddie concert call Klez4Kidz featuring live music accompanying a book reading on Sunday, August 7th at 2:00 PM. This event is for families with young children and will be held at Bridgeside Books. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to bring the entire family for the Klez4kidz concert.
