Money Maintenance at Home

At our core the Greater Burlington Women’s Forum is a place for women of all walks of life to connect and gain useful tools, information and inspiration. In this new world of virtual gatherings, we are excited for the opportunity to reach even more of you. This month, we invite you and your entire quaranTEAM (pets & kids welcome) to join us online to discuss money maintenance in a time of crisis.

Joined by Connie Beal of United Way’s Working Bridges and Andria Denome of Baystate Financial, we’ll spend the hour discussing strategies for staying in the moment. Especially right now, we understand that it’s easy to feel like things are happening to you, so our panelists will share practical action items to help you regain control as it relates to your finances. Questions? Be sure to submit them when registering for this event!

We’ll kick off the session with brief introductions from our panelists and then move into a discussion about setting realistic goals, steps you can take right now, tips for managing cash flow and resources that are available to you locally. What does financial stability mean to you? What are your short term and long term goals? How can you use this time to rethink your budget and strategy? We’ll spend the second part of the session addressing your questions, starting with the ones received during registration and opening up Q&A if we have time. We hope you’ll leave this session with actionable next steps and a list of accessible resources available.

A note from Greater Burlington Women’s Forum Leadership Team

We understand this is an extremely challenging time for all of us. We want to make sure that we are providing a safe, welcoming and inspiring space for you all. Our goal has always been to provide thoughtful, relevant and inspiring content so if there is a topic you’d like us to cover, let us know! We are all in this together and want to support this community however we can.

About the Panelists:

Connie Beal, Working Bridges Initiative Director, United Way

Connie leads training development, innovation, and supports a team of skilled and caring Resource Coordinators. An exciting part of her work is convening the Working Bridges employer network to identify and design strategies, partnerships and pilots to elevate resources and identify gaps in supporting the ever-changing needs of Vermont's diverse workforce. She is also a Resource Coordinator and helps individual employees at workplaces navigate various community resources related to housing, childcare, transportation, health care, and more. She has experience working for nonprofits in the anti-violence and substance use prevention fields, as well as public health experience in the public sector. She holds a BA in Psychology from Colby College and Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Vermont. Connie maintains work-life balance by escaping to a Vermont mountain top, playing with my young children, and eating plentiful amounts of dark chocolate.

Andria Denome, Financial Advisor, Baystate Financial

Andria provides holistic financial planning and education for both individual and organizational clients. She identifies client goals and priorities through relationship-building and works with a team of advisors at Baystate Financial to provide dynamic solutions for every stage of life. Her professional passion projects include increasing awareness and accessibility of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) investing, and working with companies to implement employee financial wellness strategies. She’s a graduate of UVM’s Sustainable Innovation MBA Program and has a background in family business. When she’s not in the office or visiting businesses, she can be found playing in the snow or biking to the beach.
