Cages

written and performed by Donny Osman

A performer, legislator, and renown clown, Donny Osman, takes us on a journey of the constructs that we choose and the ones life builds for us in a touching and lighthearted exploration of the complexities of the people and adventures that constitute life.

Donny Osman has toured his own solo shows and taught theater worldwide for more twenty years. He has a long history in theater, training and performing across Europe and founding and directing The Two Penny Circus which toured New England and beyond for ten years. He played a leadership role in founding Circus Smirkus whose mission is to promote the skills, culture and traditions of the traveling circus, and to inspire youth to engage in life-changing adventures in the circus arts. Donny was also the Director of the Vermont Governor’s Institute on the Arts for more than two decades.

AND

Box of Squirrels

written and performed by Dennis McSorley

A naturally gifted Vermont story-teller and performer, and staple of the Burlington theater community, Dennis McSorely shares his journey of a young collegiate who becomes a New York City teacher instead of being drafted to the Viet Nam war. Struggling with doubt and faith in the decisions that shaped his life, he fills the tale with humor, humanity, and humility as he ultimately becomes the warrior and hero of a less visible battle at home.

A long time presence in Vermont productions, he has played memorable roles in works written by established playwrights including Miller, Stoppard, Chekov, Simon, Mamet, Albee and Vermont playwrights Steve Goldberg, Keefe Healy, Maura Campbell and Jim Lantz.

His first two solo works “Who Made Me?” and “Typhoon of Tenderness” debuted in Vermont and were included in the United Solo Festival NYC and the Prague Fringe Festival in 2015 & 2016. He was nominated as Best Actor at the 2005 Brighton Fringe Festival and "Typhoon of Tenderness" received an Excellence in Performance Award in Prague. "Who Made Me?" was performed in the 2017 One & Only Series at the Grange Hall Cultural Center.
