Roots is a walk around tasting event / cocktail party featuring natural wines from Cork, beer & cider from breweries around Stowe, and heavy hors d’oeuvres from 20-30 of the best restaurants and food producers in Vermont, including a special animal roast by Woodbelly Pizza. Roots is a zero waste event with no plates, cutlery, napkins or disposable cups. Each ticket holder will get a glass for drinking and a dish towel to use as a napkin. All wines at the tasting are available to purchase through Cork.
We are once again committed to 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales going directly to the Vermont Foodbank. We are specifically donating the proceeds to a program called Vermonters Feeding Vermonters. The objective of the program is to increase the amount and quality of fresh, healthy food distributed to those in need by purchasing high quality fruits and vegetables directly from Vermont growers to distribute to Vermonters facing hunger.
Held on a glorious day in early June at Strawberry Hill Farm, Roots 2019 generated over $102,000 for the Vermont Foodbank’s program Vermonters Feeding Vermonters. This was a 65% increase over the 2018 event. Thanks to our generous sponsors, all the proceeds from ticket sales went directly to the Foodbank.
