Community Engagement; Why it Matters. Three artists discuss approach and collaboration.

Join local artists Alissa Faber, Trish Denton and jen berger, who all use community engagement in their work, in a discussion about the why & how of community engagement. Whether you're organizing a campaign, or teaching a class, or creating a project, community engagement can strengthen the work you are doing. You do not need to be an artist to attend.

The event is at The Hive on Pine’s gallery space. There is limited seating.

Dinner and non-alcoholic drinks will be served. You are welcome to bring beer, wine, cider for yourself or to share. Please email [email protected] with any dietary restrictions.

Alissa Faber is an artisan, designer and educator creating and teaching in Burlington, VT. She facilitates art making and creative thinking with participants ages 3-83 in all types of community spaces. Creative expression is the link through all Alissa's work whether it is seen in her own sculptures, helping others express themselves through a new creative medium or sharing the power of collective advocacy.

Trish has been committed to the facilitation of community-based projects for 15 years. Originally from Detroit, she moved to Vermont to pursue a BA at Goddard College and went on to receive an advanced degree from Dartmouth College. Trish currently serves as the education coordinator for the The Vermont Folklife Center. With her freelance practice ln Tandem Arts, she works with museums, schools and cultural institutions to produce interdisciplinary projects with a pedagogical twist.
