Put on your dancing shoes and SWING thru! Dinner served 430-10pm.
Vermont’s premier big band has been in the moonlight, stage light, and often limelight for 42 years now. Hundreds of performances, weddings, jazz clinics, school assemblies, benefits, concerts, television scores and recordings. Thousands of hours of regular rehearsals. Thousands of miles of driving in Vermont weather. Scores of venues from Grand Isle to Stratton Mountain: the moonlit meadow at Trapp’s, opening for Diane Schuur, on the Flynn stage opening for Joe Williams, at the Haskell Opera House. VJE has played numerous inaugural balls, street dances, and at the Discover Jazz Fest. Also under tents, in barns, in ballrooms, auditoriums, and restaurants. Seventeen musicians, some of whom have been with the band since its birth in 1976, have compiled an impressive resume while holding down their day jobs as teachers, sugar maker, contractor, attorney, and more. VJE has contributed over $5000 to the Vermont All State Music Festival Scholarship Fund with proceeds from sales of its 2001 CD, “25 Years in the Moonlight.” It is the musicians passion for historic and genius big band arrangements that drives the band through its fourth decade. Share our passion!
