SEABA Vision

The South End Arts District is where artists, entrepreneurs, businesses and communities thrive, supported by programs and services that enhance opportunity for all.

The South End Arts and Business Association—known around town as SEABA—was founded in 1986 as the Greater Pine Street Business Association by a group of artists and business owners who shared the entrepreneurial spirit that characterizes the South End of today. Now for more than 30 years, SEABA has continued to promote the creative community and economic vitality of the South End of Burlington.

The South End has grown to accommodate what is now the largest concentration of incubator businesses per square mile in the entire state of Vermont. With such a high concentration of artists and entrepreneurs in its backyard, SEABA successfully petitioned the Vermont State House to officially declare the area the South End Arts District.

Each fall we invite crowds from all across and even beyond the state of Vermont to join in the fun at the annual South End Art Hop. Revered and recognized as one of Vermont’s most beloved and renowned events, Art Hop, much like its South End home, has continued to grow and evolve in exciting ways since its founding in 1992. The three-day event attracts upwards of 35,000 visitors to explore open artist studios, businesses, breweries, bright music, and delicious food.
