June Farm

Our goal here at June Farm is to provide high quality cut flowers to our community, help grow our local economy, and lower the environmental impact that imported flowers have on our planet daily.

June Farm

Five sandy acres of cut flowers in the heart of Burlington on the Intervale, located on the unrelinquished lands of the Abenaki people.

June Farm is nestled along the Winooski River with six other working farms. Just down hill from the busy and vibrant city of Burlington, Vermont. The rich Intervale farming community produces vegetable, herbs, and flowers for much of the greater Burlington area. The farmers here, collectively share equipment and infrastructure, while simultaneously owning and running their own businesses. Urban farming at it’s finest. We’re also known to share a big fire and a karaoke song or two after a long day.

Our goal here at June Farm is to provide high quality cut flowers to our community, help grow our local economy, and lower the environmental impact that imported flowers have on our planet daily. We are not certified organic, but use all organic practices - our flowers are always grown chemical-free and we strive to have a positive impact on our soil.

My passion for flowers began back in 2014 while attending college at The University of Vermont and working in a local flower shop. I remember watching all the local flower farmers come into the shop and drop off flowers every Tuesday and Wednesday. I was inspired by them and felt drawn to the lifestyle. So I ended up immersing myself in the floral and farming community. I started working on the Intervale farming vegetables during the week and working at the local flower shop on the weekend. After a couple years of farming at the Intervale I heard that the owners of Stray Cat Flower Farm were looking to retire after 30+ years. I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time and was able to take over their lease and purchase their old barn, hoop houses and a couple sheds filled with tools, buckets, and more. That winter, February 2020, my partner Braden and I (who I met farming vegetables;) ) started June Farm.

Now heading into our forth season we’re growing a mix of annual and perennial specialty cut flowers on five acres of sandy soil in the field and a few greenhouses. Our number one mission and goal for June Farm is to grow high quality, sustainable cut flowers for florists and designers all throughout Vermont.
