Join this hands-on class where you’ll learn to make pork and vegetable lumpia, the beloved Filipino spring rolls known for their crispy, golden exterior and flavorful filling. In this class, you’ll learn traditional lumpia-making techniques from rolling to frying to achieving the perfect crunch. You'll explore the rich history and cultural significance of Filipino cuisine, enjoy a taste of authentic Filipino flavors, and take home skills to recreate them in your own kitchen.


About the instructor:

Raven Glaiza Cruz is the owner of Maritela’s Filipino Cuisine. Her business is mainly focused on introducing and selling delicious Filipino food. She was fortunate to gain experience in the kitchen while growing up and has been cooking since she was seven. Bringing lifelong skills and authenticity to her business, she continues to experiment with different cuisines and incorporates them into dishes for family and friends to enjoy.


Our facility is BYOB.

This agreement contains a waiver of claims based on negligence. 

Richmond Community Kitchen LLC is dedicated to culinary education and is proud to have an outstanding facility that showcases great chefs/instructors and their cuisines. Our classes are intended for your education and enjoyment. They are conducted under the direction and supervision of instructors and may be either demonstration or hands on classes, at our discretion. Your participation is strictly voluntary and does not constitute employment. Because culinary activities can present risks, Richmond Community Kitchen LLC depends on you to use your good judgment and reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others. Please follow the directions of the chef or staff member carefully. If you have any questions, whatsoever, about your ability to safely follow any instructions you are given, please immediately alert the chef or a staff member. 

In consideration for your participation in an activity at Richmond Community Kitchen LLC, and by signing this form, you acknowledge, agree, and understand that your participation is voluntary and you assume the risks associated with the culinary activity in which you will be participating. Such risks may include, but are not limited to, the risk of physical injury or harm. You further agree to indemnify, save, and hold harmless Richmond Community Kitchen LLC from any and all claims arising out of an injury, disability, or death resulting from your participation in culinary classes. This waiver specifically including any claims made by you arising from the alleged negligent acts of Richmond Community Kitchen LLC, its employees and volunteers.

Cancellation Policy

Class has a maximum of 12 students and a minimum of 6. Classes may be cancelled 4 days ahead of time if minimum is not met. Tickets are refundable up to 7 days before the event.
